Cute as Candy

Gluttony is of one the seven sins for a reason. Overeating is unhealthy (sorry to point out the obvious here) and most definitely not on the agenda for us girls who strive to keep a trim figure. Why then, do I, like many of my friends, have the biggest sweet tooth going and crave chocolate and sweets daily? How unfair is that! My overpowering want for that creamy Galaxy bar or those sugar coated Haribos is a consistent battle against my aim to stay a size 8. I can visualize the buttons popping off the new skinnies I just purchased as Christmas creeps upon us and thus giving me a seasonal excuse to consume more and more until I burst.

So, with the unfortunate bloating in sight, I’m discussing ideas in my head (talking to yourself is NOT a sign of madness if the conversations make sense) as to how to avoid my untimely portly state. The answer lies in cosmetics. No...I do not intend to cover the chub with concealer, but instead diminish my cravings by investing in irresistible products that smell and taste like candy!

Many brands have created such sweet products, and I have already consumed my favourites. Urban Decay have tuned into their sweet tooth in the style of a body powder-flavoured chocolate and marshmallow. Both shimmer (chocolate is a bronze whilst marshmallow holds a silver sheen), smell like the delectable treats they are inspired by, plus are lickable too! So not only do you look gorgeous, you also give your man an extra treat when he decides to give you a cute kiss on the shoulder...I doubt he’ll stop there when discovering you’re now edible.

ON10 have given our lips a juicy renovation with lip balms that are scented Schweppes Sparkling Pink Grapefruit, Dr. Pepper Berries & Cream Soda and Hershey’s Chocolate. These pocket must haves smell as yummy as a pick 'n' mix stall, and also all contain SPF 15 so you have a practical excuse as to why you keep licking your balm off. Similarly, Tinte Cosmetics have glosses that smell like bubble gum, haute chocolate or for the fresher ones amongst us-peppermint. These add high shine to your pout for the gloss junkies and contain shea butter to keep it soft and sexy.

Does this dreamy list stop here? Thankfully not. Philosophy has 'The Soda Fountain,' which I can only describe as my shower heaven in one package. This trio gift set contains a shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath all inspired by classic summer time refreshments- root beer, cherry cola and fruit punch. The ultra-rich formulas will leave your skin drenched with moisture and your hair silky soft; whilst your whole being smells so irresistibly delicious you’ll be wishing that sniffing your own armpit in public is acceptable behaviour. So, with all the aforementioned products firmly established in my bathroom and beauty bag, I can keep my candy cravings at bay and the gut monster away.

All of the above can be purchased at www.sephora.co.uk and www.tintecosmetics.com.
