Make up your Mood

This season delivers a sassy variety of make up looks that tilt towards the powerful, rebellious, independent woman. All that your chosen look requires is the commitment to work it to the full. Once you’ve made up your mind, stick with it and use the products to maximum effect. It’s not a half hearted winter, so go for all, or nothing.
Lets be Base
The natural nude look is so very in, consisting of a clean base, light eyes, defined cheekbones and pale lips. Think ice queen sipping a cup of hot chocolate – pale but with hints of warmth flourishing in her skin. It’s a relaxed, breezy attitude to the face, which can be taken up a notch by baby pink lip colour for petal freshness, or simply defining eyebrows to add that touch of masculinity and self assertion. The key to get this look spot on is flawless foundation that matches your natural skin tone, with flecks of pale peach or rose blusher to your cheekbones for china doll inspired perfection.
You’re so Shady
The bold eye shadow style for this season sees the 70’s glam meet 80’s rock with gothic influences. To put this bluntly, heavy, bold, bright and dark colours are in. As long as the look is dramatic, you can literally go wild with your shades. Gold was worn with super shine on the eye lids, whilst heavy disco-rock blues were seen giving a brighter alternative to black. The emphasis is on anarchy with a touch of femininity; power that’s curbed with sophistication. As long as you hold the confidence to work this look, then the eye colour palette is your new best friend.
Vamp Lips
The autumn/winter catwalks were brimming with deep red lips, inspired by sexy 80’s glam lips. The classic red shade is out, replaced by darker aubergine, cherry, copper and crimson coloured lipstick. Both matte and ultra shine textures are in, the key point here being the ‘all factor,’ in that you have to really go for it when applying your vampish shade. Full on heavy pout is the desired effect, and thus also precision is a must. There is no room for mistakes with this bold look, so perfect your pout applying techniques first.
Glam Black
Black is fall’s closest friend, and is thus this season’s colour for the eyes. The classic smoky eye has been turned up a gear for extra sophistication and rock chic tendencies. Teamed with pale complexion and shiny lips, the dramatic dark eyes will hold everyone’s attention. To re-create the smoky effect at home, use black kohl pencils for both upper and lower lids, blend well, and mix shades of grey into your black eye palette to ensure you have maximum depth to your lids for the ultimate effect.
Lash Lusciousness
Lashes have made headlines by becoming thicker, longer, fuller and more sexual. Well, not naturally, obviously. To frame the heavy eye make up that is in this season, eye lashes needed to have more of a presence, and they got it. Lush lashes are down to good mascaras and cleverly applied fake lashes. With brand new high tech formulas, the latest mascaras really do work your lashes to the maximum, giving your eyes that extra glam and feminine feel. To pump up the volume and go even more dramatic, fake lashes are a perfect way to heighten your already powerful look, aiding the ‘all or nothing’ make-up motto that is being worked this season.
