Super Skinny: Sexy or Sick?

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews

I saw this article today (above link) and felt compelled to share it with you…in the hopes that both females and males will soon learn super skinny is NOT attractive! This has been a high profile on-going debate, on both the red carpet, catwalk and sadly now the high street about the weight of models. ‘Thinspiration’ urges young women (and men too, a fact often over-looked) to starve themselves in order to fit in with the size zero culture that dominates the fashion and celebrity industry.

Let’s clear a few things up. The female form is supposed to be curvy, and anorexia and bulimia are illnesses not to be proud of. Having a naturally thin form is fabulous, but starvation to get this look when it is not your genuine body type is horrendous. Not only does skin and bone look worse than curvy boobs and hips…the internal and external damage young women are doing to their bodies to remain so skinny is frightening. What’s more, when asked, most men prefer the body type of Scarlet Johansson or Beyonce to that of Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss. So, suffering and pain…for no gain whatsoever. Girls, stop it! Super Skinny is not sexy, it’s sick.
